It is easier . . .

It is easier to just smile and go against your heart so people will like you.

It is easier to say ‘yes’ when you want to say no, so you don’t rock the boat.

It is easier to follow the crowd than follow your own heart.

It is easier to cut wood with the grain rather than against it.

It is much harder to go with your heart and against what others say or want.

It is much harder to say ‘no’ and endure the fall out of rocking the boat.

It is harder to follow your own unique expression and cope with the judgment of the crowd.

It is harder to cut against the grain.

However, the ‘easy’ life is a life lost in mediocrity, a life lost in people pleasing, being the ‘nice’ guy or girl, and a spirit hollowed and bound by the fear of life.

The ‘hard’ life is a life lived- alive, a life in such an expression that it organically changes others for the better, even through the grit of doing so, a spirit that may be slightly bruised and still feel fear, but a spirit full, free and boundlessly alive.

Are you choosing an easy life or a hard one? Really. . .the easy life WILL end up being the harder one.
